They were right all along

When my other motorcycle-riding friends who I used to ride with regularly started to drop off the scene because they'd had kids, I used to think "Yeah, but I'll always ride my bike regularly no matter what!" How wrong I was. How right they were. 19 months into fatherhood and I love being a dad to my little girl dearly but this year the only chance I've had to ride my bike was to the MOT man in March. I have to look at photos of it on my desktop to remind me what it looks like. I'd so like to ride off onto the continent for a couple of weeks this year but it just ain't gonna happen..

You're killing me! You're killing my people. Please schedule some time with your baby, go out and ride.

I'm in the same boat, but it will get better. I have two girls of my own. With the oldest being four, I am just starting to be able to devote more attention to the bikes. The oldest even has a small work bench next to mine with lots of nuts/bolts and tools. She loves going out to the garage with dad and will do her thing while I do mine.

Anyways, I read your post and wanted to share my story with you. I always check your blog but still haven't bought an issue yet. But promise I will! Great work!

Thanks chaps - I remember how I used to feel really weird if I didn't ride for a day or two, now I feel the same but weeks rather than days pass. I'm going to spark up the Guzzi this weekend no matter what...
